CHILDREN OF ENLIGHTENMENT is a revolutionary documentary that aims to become the chronicle of a generation – namely, young Japanese people, who are in the process of leading their country into a creative Renaissance. Rejecting – and rejected by – the secure corporate jobs of the past, Japan’s youth are asserting their individuality by diving into creative pursuits like art, fashion, and music. CHILDREN OF ENLIGHTENMENT guides its audience into this creative scene, following the youth to the places where they work, play, live, and create. The film explores the new lifestyles and new philosophies with which these young people experiment. Through interviews with older, established artists, CHILDREN OF ENLIGHTENMENT reveals the history of this remarkable movement, and how the Japanese scene has changed over the years. It also explores the issues and difficulties facing the youth movement, and the challenge that the movement poses to society.

And Eurohosters was there today. The debat was about a possible upcoming law which forbids downloading of illegal content.
“Aanleiding is het plan om downloaden uit illegale bron te verbieden en de Thuiskopie heffing op blanco CD’s en DVD’s af te schaffen. Is handhaving van zo’n verbod mogelijk en wenselijk? Of moet juist ook al het filesharen en uploaden op internet worden vrijgelaten? En moeten er juist meer heffingen komen, bijvoorbeeld op MP3 spelers en op internetabonnementen?
Auteursrecht op internet: wordt het ‘heffen’ of ‘handhaven’, of allebei, of geen van beide? Wat willen de belanghebbenden? Wat wil de politiek? Wat kan internationaal-juridisch?”

After its previous bandwidth provider had to take the site offline due to concerns over an aggressive Hollywood injunction, today The Pirate Bay is fully back in operation with a surprising new supplier. From a few hours ago, in a move intended to “stand up for freedom of expression”, the Swedish Pirate Party became the site’s new host.
